Which part of Forsyth County fits you?

Forsyth runs about 30 miles from the Fulton County line to the Dawson County line, and where you live in it changes your day more than any house does. Tell us where you drive to most days, how long a drive you will put up with and what you want close to home, and we will rank the parts of the county that fit, with computed drive times and what is nearby.

All 12 areas, with drive times and what is nearby

Each area is anchored to a real named place or crossroads. Drive times are computed routes on OpenStreetMap data at free-flow speed, one way, with no traffic. 'Close' is scored from the drive to the nearest library, greenway trailhead, Lake Lanier public access, county park, shopping center or GA 400 exit. Areas are matched only on these, never on who lives there, school ratings or home prices.

Decision tool · park and trail matcher

Which park or trail fits your afternoon?

Between Sawnee Mountain, the Big Creek Greenway, the Lake Lanier shore and the county's own parks, Forsyth has more places to spend an afternoon outside than most newcomers find in a year. Tell us where you are starting from, how much time you have and what you want to do, and whether a dog, a stroller, a restroom stop or a fee matters, and we will rank the places that fit.

All 40 parks and trailheads, with hours and rules

Amenities, hours, fees and pet rules come from each park's own page at the managing agency. Drive times are computed one-way routes on OpenStreetMap data from Cumming City Hall or from the area you pick, with no traffic. Parks close fields, ramps and trails for weather, lake levels, events and construction, so check the park page on the day.

Want one of these parks around the corner? The area matcher shows which parts of the county put you closest.
